Did You Know?

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that for each one thousand bottle caps (Plastic only please!) a child can get a free Dialysis? Many people don't know what Dialysis is. If you don't, exercise your brain and read about it Here. Some clinics, for example a friend of mine; her uncle works at a clinic who support this fund raiser. Will you be willing to help out and donate bottle caps? I hope so. I have started a fund raiser at work, and lets just say we have received a lot of feedback. We have received more bottle caps than I thought we would. Hopefully soon we can reach our goal of a thousand and maybe once we reach that we can reach to help at least 3 children a month! Its for a great cause and it doesn't take much hard work.

I think its time we need a bigger box or jar!

Hope you enjoyed it, liked it, hated it, or whatever! Until next time!

Mia Alexa

For those of you who know and for those of you that dont. I am a 23 *soon to be 24* year old single mother to a beautiful baby girl. My daughter was born September 30, 2010 at 34 weeks gestational age. I was induced as an emergency c-section due to pre-eclampsia. Pre-eclampsia is a medical condition in which hypertension arises in pregnancy (gestational hypertension) in association with significant amounts of protein in the urine. With that being said my daughter was born at 11:48AM at 3 lbs 13 oz, 16 1/2 inches long.
I introduce to you, Mia Alexa.
Mia Alexa has showed me the true meaning of love. She was in the hospital NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) for a total of 31 days. Those days felt like an eternity. She was finally out November 4th, 2010. She spent her first Halloween in  the NICU, and believe it or not. I dressed her up. She was Sleeping Beauty.
I couldnt find a costume to fit her, so I researched on where I can find a preemie costume and I saw that some preemie mothers went to build-a-bear workshop and bought the bear costume. Thats exactly what I did. Mia Alexa, was the only baby in the NICU dressed up for Halloween.

As of today, My daughter is now a healthy 2 year old! Ughh... That overwhelming feeling when your baby is growing right in front of your eyes. She just turned two and for her birthday I took her to Disney's Magic Kingdom. It was her first visit and it felt like mine too. I hadnt been to Disney in over 12 years. Although she might not remember in the future. I know that at that moment she had the best time of her life. She said "woooow" for a lot of things, and at her age and size she rode alot of rides. She feel asleep on the Dumbo ride, but stayed up for the rest of the night and experienced the fireworks and the light-up parade. It was such a special day for her, and I'm glad I was able to make that happen.

I hope you enjoyed it, liked it, hated it, or whatever! :)

First Blog Ever

Hello peeps! This is my first blog ever so bare with me here as I am not sure what I am doing. I got inspired to blog through a friend who has recently become close to me and is a blogger as well. She blogs as much as she can and her blogs are very interesting. As for me, like I stated, I've NEVER blogged before. It seems like a good way to relieve stress and let my heart talk. I hope you guys like it, hate it, enjoy it, or whatever.
